Dr. Soliman Fakeeh Hospital – Jeddah has strengthened its global healthcare profile after five specialties were included in Newsweek’s World’s Best Specialized Hospitals 2027, in collaboration with Statista.
The hospital ranked 1st among hospitals in Saudi Arabia in three specialties: Nephrology (50th globally), Gastroenterology (99th), and Pulmonology (129th). In Urology, it ranked 1st among private hospitals and 2nd among all hospitals in the Kingdom, placing 123rd globally. Its Oncology specialty also secured a global ranking at 291st.
The recognition highlights the hospital’s continued focus on advanced specialised care, clinical expertise, modern medical technologies, quality and patient safety. It also builds on its recent international recognition, including its inclusion among the World’s Best 250 Hospitals 2026 and recognition across five specialties in the Best Specialized Hospitals in the Middle East 2026 rankings.

Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed has approved the Dubai Longevity Strategy, aiming for an annual growth rate of approximately 31 percent and a contribution of over Dh35 billion to the emirate's economy over the next decade. Spearheaded by the Dubai Longevity Authority, the initiative seeks to establish Dubai as a global leader in healthy aging, wellness, and advanced healthcare innovation.
The strategy encompasses the entire sector value chain—from research and development, clinical trials, and manufacturing to specialized patient clinics. By building a science-driven regulatory framework, the initiative is designed to attract international investment, specialized medical talent, and advanced technologies to align with the broader objectives of the Dubai Economic Agenda.
SMC Healthcare Signs Massive $39M Contract for Riyadh Hospital
Specialized Medical Company (SMC Healthcare) signed a construction contract to Mahart Al-Injaz Contracting Company for a new hospital to be built in Riyadh. The project forms part of SMC Healthcare’s wider expansion strategy, which includes three new hospitals in northern and northwestern Riyadh to increase healthcare capacity and strengthen its presence across rapidly developing areas of the city.
The contract is valued at 148 million Saudi riyals ($39.40 million), the company said in a statement to the Saudi stock exchange. It is expected to be completed by Q4 of 2028.
This new hospital, which will be situated on Riyadh’s Northern Ring Road. It will consist of 296 beds, 200 outpatient clinics, and a helipad to support emergency services. Alongside SMC 3 on the Northern Ring Road, the company is progressing SMC 4 in the Khuzam suburb and SMC 5 in Al Malqa.
